Velma Erlene Johnston, age 92, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas
Visitation: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, November 22, 2021, at Biggers Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Saginaw Senior Citizens.
Velma Erlene Johnston was born January 30, 1929 in Winfield, Kansas to Donald H. Teter and Frances Holman Teter. She married Clyde Johnston and together they had two sons, Richard and Kenneth.
She loved to cook, sew and travel. Velma belonged to the First Baptist Church of Saginaw and the Saginaw Senior Citizens. Spending time with her family was one of her favorite things to do. She loved cooking for them and visiting with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Christmas time was one of her favorite holidays and gathering with the family.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Frances Teter; her husband, Clyde J. Johnston; her son, Kenneth Lee Johnston and two sisters, Edith Fields and Illene Warren; and two brothers, Phil Teter and Devon Teter.
She is survived by her son, Richard K. Johnston and Tracy, grandchildren, Dawn Hengen and Nate, Rick Johnston and Amie, Tyler Dashner and Eric and Jordan Hendricks and Ryan; her great-grandchildren, Emma Hengen, Cooper Hengen, Clyde Johnston, Rose Johnston, Hazel Lou Dashner and Hayes Walker Hendricks; and her sister, Deloris Penner.
