Kyle was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 20, 1961 and moved to North Richland Hills, Texas when he was 10 years old. He moved on to his next adventure on February 18, 2018 after a year long battle with kidney cancer.
Memorial Service: 4 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Biggers Funeral Home. Following the service, please join his family for a celebration of Kyle’s life in his shop at 2300 Walter Smith Rd. in Azle. Kyle was definitely not a formal person; his request was for very casual attire, or as he called it, “Race Track Casual.” Please honor this request and leave your suits and ties at home.
Memorials: Kyle was fortunate enough to be treated by a world leading oncologist and researcher, Dr. Hans Hammers, who specializes in kidney cancer. In lieu of flowers, please help support his continued research by donating via www.utsouthwestern.edu/donatenow, by emailing giving@utsouthwestern.edu, or mail a check to Michele Myers, UT Southwestern, P.O. Kyle followed his father’s path and became an airline pilot, flying for American Eagle and American Airlines. Kyle was an accomplished drag racer and blues guitarist. He loved to travel to Colorado and the desert Southwest and especially enjoyed exploring ghost towns and old mines. Kyle was excellent at engineering the cars he raced and fabricating his own parts. He enjoyed the camaraderie at the track as much as he enjoyed the competition. Additionally, he was a fisherman, dirt biker, SCUBA diver and flew radio controlled helicopters and planes. One of Kyle’s favorite things was hanging out with friends in his shop, drinking scotch, smoking cigarettes and telling stories. He was good at everything he wanted to do and was well respected by all. Kyle deeply loved his son, Hunter, his wife, Lori, and his family and friends.
Survivors: Kyle is survived by his loving wife, Lori; his son, Hunter; former wife, Lyn; sisters, Cheryl Copeland and her husband, Lawrence Holt and Karla Driemeier; nephew, Kale Driemeier; niece, Shawn Portner; sister-in-law, Stephani Brainard; and parents-in-law, Mike and Beverly Adkisson; as well as numerous cousins and friends.
