Dear Beloved Carolyn, and Kids and Grandkids..... There has been a big flow of communication and love going on between all extended family members in the past few days, all of us holding you close in our thoughts. While talking to my brother Brian he mentioned that when he thought of Alan, he thought of Alan's hands. I agree. They were massive, strong, capable and honest.....just like him. When some people lose a loved one they say that person has left big footprints behind. With Alan, he left those big footprints, but also he left big handprints. He made this world a better place. He was one of those special people who you loved the first time you met him. He was also a great Patriot.....he made it clear he loved America.....we could use more like him in that regard. He always expressed how lucky he felt that Carolyn married him. Together they brought 3 wonderful children into the world, who each have in turn done the same thing and no doubt raise their little ones using wisdom passed to them by Alan and Carolyn. His decency and his sense of honor echos out through his children, and his immeasurable love for his family lives on. Everyone who knew him will miss him. We send our heartfelt sympathies to Carolyn and family. God bless him......Love, Barb and Zach

Al Peters & I go back a long way together. From our youth we enjoyed a closeness many brothers don't have. Over the years we kept in touch by phone, letters & e-mail and get to gathers in St Louis area and TX. I attended his son Kurt's wedding and also his daughter Kelli's wedding, and at her wedding reception many of al's past employees spoke very highly of him and it was evident they loved and respected him very much. A few years ago my oldest son, Randy who lives in Fairview, TX and I were fortunate enough to visit Al in Grapevine, TX. We had a great time reminiscing about the "ole" days of our youth. I am so glad that I shared those few hours with Al. I shall cherish his friendship for the rest of my life. For the record,I have in my possession many long detailed letters that Al wrote me over the years that I thought too priceless to throw away. And if one of his children ever feels the desire to see them, I would happily mail them to them. These letters tell a lot of who Al is and was, and to me they are very special.
