GRANBURY — Alan Harlan Peters, 80, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, in Granbury.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial: Holly Hills Memorial Park in Granbury.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Cook Children’s Medical Center.
Mr. Peters was born Mar. 6, 1934, in Lacrosse, Wis., to Harlan and Delores Black Peters. He married Carolyn Kennison, June 3, 1961, in Beloit, Wis. He first retired from Siecor/Corning Cable in Keller, Texas as a Design Engineer and later as a Plastics Engineer with Dosmatic in Lewisville. He received the 1993 Society of Plastics Engineers Award for the Most Useful and Unique Industrial Plastics Product. Alan will be remembered for many things including his great sense of humor, love of God and country, family bar-b-ques, Green Bay Packers and Fightin’ Texas Aggie football, antique/classic cars, as well as helping friends and neighbors and working in his shop. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: Wife, Carolyn; son, Barry and wife, Liana, of Kingdom of Bahrain; son, Kurt and wife, Lynn, of Bixby, Okla.; daughter, Kelli Dilday and husband John of Benbrook; grandsons, Preston and Ashton Peters, Corbin and Carson Dilday; and granddaughter, Carolina Peters.
