Al’s humility, sincere love of others, and passion to share his Jesus with everyone he met will always have an impression on me. I look forward to seeing you in heaven my friend.

I haven't seen any of the Christensen family since the early 70’s since moving to Tennessee. I have never forgotten my years at HPBC - my childhood church where I was saved and baptized. I also went to school and was friends with Pam till the 10 grade. I remember Mr. Christensen and how kind he was and how his love for Jesus truly was showed to others. I’m so thankful for those kind of examples that made a difference in my life. I know there is a great reunion happening in Heaven. Prayers of comfort to his family and friends. Jolene Rivers Skaggs

Have you ever wondered what it was like for the disciples of Christ to follow Jesus and listen to him speak and teach? I sure have, but one thought comes to mind. Brother Al was as close to being "Jesus with skin on" as I have ever known. The love, acceptance and thoughtfulness he showed others was nothing short of amazing. My family has been blessed to have known and learned from Mr. Al for years. Our family is better because of his life and his ministry. Thank you to the entire Christensen Family for sharing him with us.

Uncle Burley had the most contagious laugh. He brought love & joy to any gathering. I loved my Uncle Burley. He brought sunshine into my life. Thank you Uncle Burley for being the great Christian example that you were for me growing up.

I'll never forget the beautiful prayers I heard from Al. I first met Al & Linda 15 years ago in Wednesday's Bible study group. I new instantly they were very special. May God comfort all of you in your loss individually and as a family.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Sandra (Smith) Seale ~ HPBC kid left a message on December 15, 2020:
As sad as I am to hear that Al has passed, I know he is having an awesome homecoming with so many of our parents. One more glorious HPBC reunion. My husband and I both were saying we’ve never not known him. Charlie was often in his Sunday school class and my family was blessed to have him in our lives. Mom and dad (Shirley & EF Smith) were already living at Lake Granbury when the Christensens moved there and all attended Lakeside Baptist. When my Aunt Elaine moved next door to my parents after my uncle passed away Al took her under his wing as well. When my parents moved back near me Al would drive Aunt Elaine to and from church whenever it was dark. He’s always been such a special person, truly a Godly man. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with the family and all who love him.

I have had the privilege of working beside Mr. Al in a lot of areas of the church but my favorite memory isn’t that. The memory of him that sticks with me the most is his devotion to his wife and family. Linda had moved to help them but he was the one that would bring her lunch to the church office. He always came in with his little shuffle and grin, taking care of his “girl”. He just beamed while he served, anyone.

You already know this but it is worth saying again. Al is the Christian we all want to be. Humble, gracious, forgiving and passionate about his faith and his Lord. You know how blessed you were to call him your father but we were blessed to call him a brother in Christ. He was wise and witty and beloved. Prayers for you all as you continue this walk.
Kristi Wood left a message on December 14, 2020:
I met Al at the old church back in the late 1990's. My middle daughter had met his grandson and briefly dated. That started our friendship. So many happy memories of just talking to him.
