BURLESON — Alice Louise Porter, 82, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, in Burleson.
Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Wiley Funeral Home.
Interment: Tolar Cemetery.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Alice was born Dec. 8, 1933, in Tolar to Oran and Florence Lockhart. Raised in Tolar, she met Charley in the 6th grade. They graduated high school together in 1951 and married Nov. 20, 1954 in Granbury to start a happy family of their own.
She loved Jesus and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and improving her impressive vocabulary. Alice shared her love of God and learning with her children and grandchildren. Munner, as she was christened by her grandchildren, encouraged creativity in her family.
After her stroke, her family had the pleasure of caring for her. Alice never complained and made life a joy. She is deeply loved and missed. Munner, we wish we could have one more cup of coffee together.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Deborah Johnson; three brothers and a sister.
Survivors: Husband of 61 years, Charley Porter; son, David Mark Porter; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
