Alta Mae Plumlee

CANADIAN — Alta Mae Plumlee, 85, passed away November 16, 2015 Service: Graveside 11 a.m. Friday, November 20, 2015 at Nubbin Ridge Cemetery. Visitation: 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the funeral home.
Alta was born May 29, 1930 in Granbury to James “Alec” and Jewel Vaughn. Alta was married to James W. Buckley from 1948 to 1968; from that union came Linda, James and Tina. She enjoyed creating crafts, crocheting and playing games with family. Alta met Charlie Plumlee at a square dance; they married in 1976. She was family oriented; most of all she loved sitting outside with family members enjoying the evening weather. Alta was a member of Central Baptist Church in Canadian. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years Charlie, her beloved daughter Tina Chumbley, her parents, her brother Jerry Vaughn and his wife Sandy, sister in-law Betty Vaughn.
Survivors include: her children Linda Chumbley and husband Lee, James Buckley and wife Tessa; grandchildren Brandi, Amber, Matthew, Tami, Laura, Britten, Jennifer; 12 great grandchildren; siblings James Vaughn and wife Ranell, Charles Vaughn, Lovelle Francis and husband Jim; and numerous nieces / nephews.
