Alta “Marie” Knight

Alta “Marie” Knight, 88, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. Services will be private with a memorial service in Monahans, TX. at a later date.
Marie was born on January 15, 1930 in Racine, Missouri to Odis and Luella Rush. She was devoted to her family and friend. She enjoyed cooking for them and spending time with them.
Marie was a true friend and she kept friendships for a lifetime. She was very involved with the community and with charitable organizations especially March of Dimes and Toys for Tots during the 1960’s and 70’s with the MVFD. She was preceded in death by her husbands: E.M. “Pete” Dain and James E. Knight; Daughter: Louella Compton; Granddaughter: Kimberly Kidd; Great-Grandson: Cotey Urquidez; sister: Josephine Watkins; and brothers: William “Bud” Rush, Bobby Joe Rush, John Rush, Ralph Rush and David Rush.
Marie is survived by her son: Lawrence Dain and wife, Vanda; Grandchildren: Cindy (Brandon) Carrell, Tonya (Sal) Sanchez, Laura Dain, Michelle (John) Alvarez, Maegan (Tyler) Stafford; 13 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great Grandchildren; Siblings: Odes Rush and Janie Erb; brother-in-law Cecil and Judy Dain: Sister-in-laws Wanda Rush and Carolyn Rush and numerous nieces, nephews.
