A Father’s Day Gift
Andrew Benjamin Colwick is a proud member of the Colwick triplets that were born on May 30, 2015. Andrew, Caroline, and Claire were born at 27 weeks and have been fighting each day for one more day. While Caroline and Claire began to hit some strides, Andrew had to fight harder. On June 19, 2015, Andrew received the miracle and healing we had been praying for only 20 day into his short life on Earth. Healing came in a different way than we had prayed, but there is no doubt that it is His healing.
From the beginning of time, God created Andrew for eternity. He created him as a vessel of noble purpose. Just before Father’s Day, Andrew became everything God had created him to be as he stepped into his eternal Glory and God’s presence while we held him. As parents, we are sad and heartbroken beyond words. Our tears are great and may be greater yet to come, but as Believers, we have HOPE. Hope in a God that has rewarded our son with healing and a Crown. Hope in a God that delivers a promise through our trust in Christ that we will see him again. And while scooping up our son upon our day in Glory will be as awesome as I dream it to be, it will not even be the greatest reward. Our greatest victory and pleasure will be seeing our Savior face to face in the presence of a Good and Sovereign God. What joy it is to know that our son has the full loving knowledge of God and our Savior. That is a great God and a great Father’s Day.
We will continue to proudly and loudly through prayer, cheer on sisters Caroline and Claire as they continue their battle. The road remains long and headwinds are ahead, but we are grateful for Andrew and a God of Hope. Andrew, we are proud of you and a life worth celebrating.
Proud Triplet Parents,
Mom and Dad
