Avonelle Lea (McCaslin) Finley went to meet Jesus on February 3, 2021
Her journey began on November 27, 1930, in Shidler, Oklahoma.
Avonelle Lea (McCaslin) Finley was raised in Oklahoma City where her husband, Rollin, was a neighborhood friend and they married after he returned from World War II. They began their family with the birth of four daughters.
Avonelle moved to El Paso, Texas in 1963. She was the manager of a privately owned toy store and later was an assistant manager at Gibson. Once retired, they moved to Nevada, Texas, to a country setting, where they built their own home, barn, etc. Later she continued working at Montgomery Wards in the cash office and later part-time in the automotive office in Garland, Texas.
She loved her family and her dogs. She had an engineer’s mind and loved to design and build things. She was an avid gardener, quilter and loved her morning cup of coffee. Several years after her husband passed away, she moved to Fort Worth, Texas to be near her eldest daughter.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, George and Pearl McCaslin; her husband, Rollin Finley; her brother, Paul McCaslin and her sister Delores Belyeu.
She is survived by her daughters.
