Aunt Barb was always ready with a quip and a laugh. The family would be sitting around talking and suddenly the quiet conversation would be split by a big laugh and a big smile. As my brother Richard said in a recent email, "Barb was always lighting up the room when she walked in. I have great appreciation for the way she cared for Uncle Don all those years." I've liked Aunt Barb since the honeymoon ....... Yes, the honeymoon. Somehow, my twin brother and I got to spend a day with Uncle Don and new Aunt Barb during their honeymoon. Her smile and laugh were the same then as they were in her 80's. Barb and I have been careful not to discuss that trip since. After all, she was only 22 and I was a mature 5.67 years of age.

Barb was my best friend and travel companion for many memorable trips. She always made the trips fun for everyone. She never met a stranger. I saw her most every day and we would have wine and share family news. We supported each other when we both became caregivers. She was my best friend, wonderful neighbor, confidant and I will miss her greatly. I feel privileged to have known her.

I remember when we were young we would help out at The Pitt Grill with my mom Linda Laney (Baughman). Our number one job was to keep an eye out for Don and Barb pulling up in the parking lot because when they did we would run to the jukebox and play “Take this Job and shove it” by Johnny Paycheck. We would all laugh our heads off for hours!
