Betty Baker

GRANBURY — It is with deep sadness we report the passing of Betty Leona Cox Baker on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015. Betty was 74. Her transition to meet her eternal Savior was made with loved ones by her side.
Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home Granbury.
Interment: Thorp Spring Cemetery.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Betty was married to the love of her life, Frank, for 59 years. Their bond of love was very strong and evident to all who knew her. Betty was extremely smart, gifted and a hard-working woman with many talents. She was an exceptional seamstress. She made sure her loved ones were gifted with her amazing quilts. She won several first-place awards at the State Fair of Texas for her pottery entries. We were also gifted with paintings that we will cherish forever.
Betty’s cooking abilities were also treats for all who knew her, especially her clients. Betty worked at Bunkies for several years. Many people came daily to enjoy Mom’s homemade cooking. She will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Baker; parents, TS and Floyd Cox; and great-grandson, Jason Barnes.
Survivors: Daughters, Theda Briggs and her husband, Donald, of Joshua, Rejeana Barnes of Venus, Diana Baker Penkala of Granbury; grandchildren, Christina Briggs of Joshua, Amber Hogue and husband, Brian, of Venus, Laura Jerffery and fiance, John, of Burleson, Clayton Barnes and wife, Chelsea, of Alvarado, Heather Birkholz and husband, Paul, of Austin, Kathryn Penkala of Alvarado; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Audrey Mitchel of Irving; and many loved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
