Betty Dayle Newman, 89, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 in Granbury.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Betty was born January 8, 1927 in Fort Worth, TX to John Wilson and Threca Stella Locklear Blue.  She has lived in Granbury since 1986.  She retired from the Federal office in New Orleans, was a member of Good Sams and enjoyed traveling.  She enjoyed spinning, weaving, sewing, gardening, hiking and camping.  She would try anything new.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild, Zachary Bourg.
Survivors: husband, J. R. Newman; sons, John Newman (Gay) of Pauls Valley, Ok., Richard Newman (Cindy) of Granbury; daughters, Mary Parrish (Robert) of Long Boat Key, FL and Ginger Bourg of Colorado Springs, Co.; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Howe (James) of Candler, N.C..
