FORT WORTH — Betty Jean Gray, 85, went home to be with the Lord early Monday morning, Dec. 26, 2016, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Service: 11 a.m., Thursday, Southcliff Baptist Church, Fort Worth.
Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth.

Betty was born on April 18, 1931, to the late Cecil and Annie Gordon. Betty was a very vivacious, active Christian woman who enjoyed life and loved to laugh. Betty loved her husband, Sonny, and her family with all her heart. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Betty had a lot of really close friends throughout her life that she enjoyed camping with, riding motorcycles, playing dominoes, bridge, dancing, and going on vacations with. She had a particularly close group of friends since childhood who had the tradition of having a Christmas party every year for 64 years. Betty and Sonny were members of Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury for 20 years. Betty’s smile, laugh, and compassion for others will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy “Bill” Edward Gordon on April 19, 2014.
Survivors: Betty is survived by her husband of 65 years, Willie Allen “Sonny” Gray, Jr.; daughter, Cindy Sybesma; son, Mark Gray and wife, Cheryl; grandchildren, Courtney Sybesma, Katy Elliott and husband, Ryan, Shannon Tower and husband, Ryan and Caylin Gray and fiancee, Chase Miller; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Coby, Arley and Everly Elliott; and several nieces and nephews.
