Betty Jo Black, 89, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in Glen Rose, Texas following a brief illness.
She leaves her sons Tony Lee, Clayton Black, daughter-in-law Elena Black, grandchildren Justin Black, Sebastian Black, Mateo Black, Jonathan Lee, Andrew Lee, Jennifer Lee, Tony Lee Jr and his wife Missy with two great grandchildren Meagan and Kristen Lee, and her sister Nelda Frels.
Born and raised in Texas, the daughter of Johnny Borth and Ruby Jane Stovall was a long time resident of Glen Rose, Texas.
In her early years Betty worked as a welder in a shipyard and later met her husband Cliff while working at a grocery store. Betty and Cliff were married 48 years before Cliff passed away December 7, 2007. She loved dancing and especially anything to Elvis Presley. Betty had a passion for knitting, crocheting and sewing and knew how to garden and can her own food.
Visitation will be Saturday January 21st, 2017, from 4-6pm at Wiley Funeral Home, Glen Rose, Texas.
Graveside service will be held at Squaw Creek Cemetery, Glen Rose, Texas at 11 a.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017 where she will be laid to rest by her husband Cliff.
