Betty Jo “MeMaw” Caudle passed away the morning of Monday, February 23, 2015. She is now home with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 4350 River Oaks Blvd., Fort Worth. Committal will be in Greenwood Mausoleum.
Being a part of America’s greatest generation and having several family members in the service of our country over many years, we, her family, request in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to the Gary Sinise Foundation, Box 50008, Studio City, Calif. 91614-5001.
Betty was born May 8, 1922, in Marlow, Oklahoma, and spent most of her life in Fort Worth. She was the oldest of three children and came from a family of early settlers in Kansas and Oklahoma. She and her husband, Homer, and her parents, Staton and Freda McCrory, were very involved in the River Oaks area. She was a charter member and elder of John Knox Presbyterian Church, having worshipped there since it was formed in the late 1940s. She and her husband owned and operated Caudle’s Drive Inn from 1956 to 1980. Her talents to build items, sew and do handwork were amazing. She shared those talents with family and friends. Even in the early stages of dementia, she could still paint and crochet.
A very special thank-you for the loving care she received from her caregivers at LaDora Nursing and Rehab in Bedford. The family is so grateful for each one of you. “To God be the Glory!”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Caudle; father and mother, Staton and Freda McCrory; a brother, R.V. Hill; and son-in-law, Pat Kays.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Sandy Kays; grandchildren, Mike Kays and wife, Sally, Jeff Kays and wife, Gina, and Margaret Kays Alexander and husband, Larry; nephew, R.V. Hill Jr. and wife, Mary; great-grandchildren, Patrick Kays, Peyton Kays, Mileena Gomez and Cayenne Alexander; great-great-grandchildren, Rosie and Raiden Gomez; and a host of other family and friends.
