GRANBURY — Billie C. Applewhite of Granbury passed away September 26, 2014 after a short battle with cancer.
Memorial service: 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2014 in Martin’s Funeral Home Chapel.
Bill was born in Eden, Texas and was one of five sons of I.A. and Velma Applewhite. On September 22, 1951 he was united in marriage to Mae Hatley and they have been married for 63 years.
He served in the U.S. Air Foce for four years then worked for Bell Helicopter for 25 years, retiring in 1993. Upon retirement he and his wife built a home in Evant, Texas, then traveled for many years before moving back to Granbury.
He enjoyed many activities with his family, camping trips, traveling and vacations.
Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and two brothers, Charlie and Jack.
Survivors: wife, Mae; son, David; daughters, Cheryl Adams and Debra Boehringer; six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Alex and Gene.
