Billie L. Botsko

Billie L. Botsko, 79, of Granbury, TX, passed away September 22, 2022, after fighting a several-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis.  She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her passing. Celebration of life service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 2pm at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury, Texas. Reception will follow at Harbor Lakes Country Club.

Billie was born on February 26th, 1943 to Willie H. Colton and Velma Pilgrim, in Las Cruces, NM. She loved school and valued education. Billie was a devoted mom and worked hard to provide the best life for her daughter, Mellanie. One of her greatest joys was when she became a Nana to her spunky granddaughter Katelyn. She retired from DuPont, where she began as a secretary and advanced to a Supervisor specializing in the distribution and use of Medical X-Ray Film.

On January 3, 1996, Billie married her loving husband, Ronald J. Botsko, in Long Beach, California. During their 26 years of marriage, they enjoyed living in Washington State, along the beach in Southern CA, and eventually settling in 2003 to Granbury, TX.

Billie loved traveling and had the opportunity to go on many dream vacations, both with family and friends. She was an avid non-competitive bridge player and loved playing games with her family. She had a witty sense of humor, could always make others laugh, and had a smile that would light up the room. Her sweet temperament with a touch of southern sass will be missed by all, especially her family.

Billie loved traveling and had the opportunity to go on many dream vacations. Several summers were spent in California with her family. She and her husband Ron went on many trips abroad with friends. She was an avid non-competitive bridge player and loved playing games with her family, such as dominoes, Skip-Bo, Uno and poker. One might even say she was a “competitive” Wheel of Fortune player. Billie loved spending time with friends participating in the Newcomers’ Club, the Garden Club, and various bridge and bunco groups, along with volunteering.

Billie had a witty sense of humor and could always make others laugh. She had a beautiful, soft laugh and a smile that would light up the room. Her sweet temperament with a touch of southern sass will be missed by all, especially her family.

Billie’s passing was preceded by her parents, Velma and Willie, and her sisters, Margaret, Doris, Helen, and Charlotte.  She is survived by her  forever-loving husband, Ron Botsko, devoted daughter, Mellanie Ferguson and husband Jason, her precious granddaughter, Katelyn, brother, Michael Bolton, Jason’s mother, Virginia, and other loving relatives and friends.
