Billy Earl Kirbie, 76, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 29, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 2, at Ash Creek Baptist Church, Azle. Interment will be in Jaybird Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at Biggers Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials to Ash Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 300 South Stewart St., Azle, Texas 76020.
He was born in Pampa on April 16, 1939, to John and Naomi Kirbie. He graduated from Pampa High School and from North Texas State University where he played football at both schools. He was a member of the Geezles at North Texas State. He taught and coached for 34 years, and retired from Birdville ISD. Throughout his life, he coached college, high school, and middle school football. He loved to travel and camp, especially in the mountains, and he was a member of Ash Creek Baptist Church.
He will be missed by many wonderful friends and his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Burl Kirbie; and grandson, Will Wood.
Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara Kirbie of Azle; children, Greg Kirbie of Prague, Oklahoma, Pat McMahan and wife, Tricia, of Keller, Mike McMahan and wife, Judy, of Denison, Dennis McMahan and wife, Jackie, of Benbrook, Robin McMahan and wife, Robyn, of Kennedale, Lea Ann Wood and husband, Trent, of Bedford; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Dykes and husband, Jesse, of Pampa, and Shirley Chapman and husband, Glenn, of Clyde; several nieces and nephews.
