Brant R. Burkhart

WATAUGA — Brant R. Burkhart, 64, a longtime employee of Luminant Power-I&C Technical Nuclear-SR, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015.

Visitation:  5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury, TX
Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.

Interment: Squaw Creek Cemetery in Glen Rose.
Brant was born Oct. 10, 1950, in Urbana, Ill., to James M. and Laura Gay Burkhart while his parents were stationed at the Air Force base. He was a loving husband to his wife and loving father to his extended family. Mr. Burkhart was a lifelong believer. He was active as an ordained pastor of New Life Covenant Ministries which supports Christian missions and various churches. Mr. Burkhart came from a military family. His father, James M. Burkhart, was a career military officer. Brant was a U.S. Navy (Nuclear Fast Attack Submarine Service) veteran of the Vietnam era. He was a resident of Granbury from 1989 to 2014 and resided in Watauga until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his father, retired Col. James M. Burkhart of Joplin, Mo.
Survivors: Wife, Pamela D. Burkhart; mother, Mrs. James M. Burkhart of Joplin, Mo.; sons, John B. Burkhart, Stuart R. Burkhart and wife, Christa; stepsons, Gregory S. May and wife, Libby, Joshua L. May; stepdaughter, Alissa L. Ford and husband, Ben; brothers, James G. Burkhart and wife, Barbara, Scott D. Burkhart and wife, Mary; niece, Brandyn Shea Willis and husband, Bart; nephew, Aaron Burkhart; grandchildren, Zhane Spencer Burkhart, Preston William-Reed Burkhart, Grace Elizabeth, Braden Allen, Mary Alice Sarah May, Addison Sarah Mathews, Avery Lynn and Emery Elizabeth Ford; and grandnephews, Ethan, Jackson and Finn Willis.
