Dora Salvide Rouquette left a message on September 13, 2019:
Reflecting on my uncle’s life I can come up with only one word. He was a giver. A giver to his family, country and community. It was the perceived small things that had the biggest impact. Bringing me Oreos when I had the mumps . Taking my Grandma and me to the grocery store on Saturday’s, which was usually the biggest event of the week. Explaining why the Cowboys were such a big deal. I remember the day he proposed to Tola , Slicking up in front of the mirror , shining his shoes , making sure his clothes was just right . After all it was a big day . The adage that goes “ behind every good man is a strong woman “ could not be more true in this instance , Tola broadened his mind, heart and kindness . She gave him two daughters that were the core of his life . I rejoice in his life and sad at his passing but he continues to live in all that he left behind .
