GRANBURY — Byron “Barney” Ben Nar Murry, 72, passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2014, in Granbury.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home. Private services will be scheduled at a later date.
Memorials: Dallas VA Hospital or charity of choice.
Byron was born Jan. 4, 1942, in Ardmore, Okla., to Luther Tyson Murry and Frances Pauline Tooley Murry. He marred Rosemarie Stienes, Oct. 1, 1965, in Bensfelt, Germany. He had lived in Granbury since 1983. Barney served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965. He attended junior college in Gainesville and college in Claremore, Okla. He retired as an air traffic controller at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Barney loved to invent things, pick his guitar and sing. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul T. Murry and Don V. Murry.
Survivors: Wife, Rosemarie Murry of Granbury; sons, Bert Murry and wife, Jill, of Fort Worth, Luther Murry and wife, Penny, of Granbury; daughter, Rosita Blenk and husband, Bernd, of German; two grandsons and four great granddaughters; brother, Melvern Murry of El Campo; sister, Linda Moncrief and husband, John, of Fort Worth; several extended family members and friends who will miss him.
