Charles Clifton Allcon, 88, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014, in Fort Worth.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church, 1501 Jim Wright Freeway. Interment will be in Azleland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Memorial gifts may be made to a charity of choice.
Mr. Allcon was born August 8, 1925, in Cleburne and moved to Fort Worth in 1937. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for A Brandt & Company as a furniture finisher for many years and was also employed by Stripling Department Store as a journeyman painter, finish carpenter in the furnishing department until retirement in 1992.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and formerly associated with Lake Worth Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener who could grow just about anything; he enjoyed sharing with all.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth Warden Allcon; son, Clifton Lee “Cliff” Allcon and wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Laura Kathleen Allcon and Hannah LeeAnne Allcon; and several nieces and nephews.
