Elke Barfield left a message on September 20, 2011:
May the father of my children Brenda Barfield Keeling and Heath Edward Barfield pull on his lineman boots and hooks one more time to serve the Lord our God as faithful as he did the public over a lifetime of devoted service. May he be blessed for the helping hand he lend to those in distress for he never turned down a soul in need. Those who remember Charley are sending their final farewell: Donald & Margaret Reddel; Nancy Morgan and husband Jack; Don Morgan and Troy; Martha & Frank Tandy; Theresa Kolkow and husband; Karen & Clyde Young; the Henson's; Jealeta Maddux and others. May your spirit be at peace in God's house, Elke Barfield

Uncle Charlie, I have many precious memories. I remember when you & Aunt Elke bought that acreage in Weatherford and moved that house on the property. Lots of Briar bush to walk thru. The camping trips to Colorodo with Granny Katie & Granpa Smitty. Of course, the hard time you gave my daughter Ellen. She enjoyed your "hard time". Thank you for always loving us and being a part of our life. You definitely were & will always be an Admirable man and a GREAT Uncle. LOVE YOU Donna Barfield Skloss and FAMILY.
