Charles Richard Welch, age 80, left this world on July 21, 2018, following a courageous battle with COPD and congestive heart disease.
Richard was born January 23, 1938 in Waco, Texas to parents Charles Benjamin Welch and Mae Mizer Welch. He married Mona Morgan on July 21, 1956 and lived in Houston and Dallas, Texas.
Richard worked in the car wash industry, manufacturing, sales and service for over 40 years. He owned and operated several car washes throughout the years, but Pirate Car Wash was special to him.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, Granbury, Texas, and the Southwestern Car Wash Association. His hobby was rebuilding and restoring classic cars and trucks. He enjoyed classic car shows and delivering “Meal on Wheels.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, half sister, Lucille Cockrell, and five of his closes friends.
He is survived by his wife, Mona Welch and three sons; Kenneth Welch ( Laurel), Bryan Welch (Beth), Darrell Welch (Shay) and ten grandchildren; Shawn Welch, Lance Welch, Ashley Welch, Jordan Welch, Blake Welch, Ethan Welch, Andrew Welch, Brayton Grace Welch, Barret Welch and Beckett Welch.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Christian Church, on July 28, 2018 at 5:00 PM.
