GLEN ROSE — Charles Sanderson, 74, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2014 in Fort Worth. Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Somervell County Cancer Support Group, P.O. Box 251, Glen Rose, TX 76043.
Charles was born Oct. 17, 1939 in Somervell County to J.B. and Lorena Marsden Sanderson. He married Erma Lee Ford on Oct. 5, 1961 in Stratford. Charles was born and raised in Glen Rose, loved Glen Rose and the community and support for the kids and townspeople. He loved golf, lunch at Hammonds on Fridays and helped build the Industrial Park. He was a member of the Glen Rose Lion’s Club, Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Youth Baseball and the Hospital Board. He was blessed and loved by his son and daughter-in-law, grandkids, wife and family. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Alden Sanderson and a baby brother; and a sister, Eva Albers.
Survivors: Wife, Erma Sanderson of Glen Rose; son, Dwayne and wife, Gena Sanderson of Glen Rose; grandchildren, Brennan Sanderson of College Station and Brittan Sanderson of Stephenville; brother, James and wife, Lola Sanderson of Spring Lake; sister, Glen Easterwood of Temple; brother-in-law, Ron Albers of Richardson; a number of nieces and nephews.
