Charles W. “Charlie” Johnson, 77, retired Senior Master Sergeant, United States Air Force, lost his battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Friday, October 17, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Committal with military honors will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Charles was born August 4, 1937, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Grady L. and Susie Arnold Johnson. He joined the United States Air Force in 1955 and retired in 1977. He worked for the city of Fort Worth as housing rehabilitation supervisor, retiring in 1997 after 21 years of service. He was very active with the Cowtown Brushup through the city of Fort Worth for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Dominey Johnson; son, Chuck Johnson and wife, Belinda; daughter, Toni Halbert and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Amanda Cadle and husband, Jon, Amy Weber and husband, J.R., and Melissa Halbert; great-grandchildren, Gracyn, Logan, Carson and Kynleigh.
