Charlotte (Yoshiko Sasai) Brackett

Charlotte (Yoshiko Sasai) Brackett, 96 was called home by her Lord and Savior on March 28, 2017. She was born on March 22, 1921 in Hiroshima, Japan.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Brackett in 1984 and a son, Steven Brackett in 2012.
Charlotte attended school in Japan and was also a survivor of the atomic bomb when it was dropped in Hiroshima during World War II. She would soon meet and marry James Brackett on September 12, 1954. They had 5 children.
James was in the Air Force when they met. They ultimately moved to the states and were finally transferred to Big Spring, where he retired from the military. Charlotte lived there until 2004. She then moved to Lubbock, Texas to be closer to all of her children, and then to Granbury, Texas in 2014.
Charlotte was a housewife during her children’s formative years and began work in 1967 at the Big Spring Country Club. She was a permanent fixture there and was loved by all who met her and knew her. She was known for her kindness, generosity, cheerfulness and loving spirit. She retired in 2004.
Charlotte had a tremendous and undeniable love for her family and her biggest joy and happiness came from her children and grandchildren whom she adored! That love was always reciprocated!
She is survived by her children, Larry Brackett and his wife Nancy, Alice Borron, Patti Dishman and her husband Chuck, Carol Fleming and her husband Steve, 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
