Charlye Haverkorn Beard

Charlye Haverkorn Beard, 90, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014, in Fort Worth.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Azleland Memorial Park in Reno. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Charlye Waulien Boulware was born and raised in Cleburne. She came to Fort Worth in 1942 and graduated from the Harris School of Nursing in 1945. Her career in health care included Harris, All Saints and Northwest hospitals and Fort Worth Rehabilitation Center until her retirement in 1986.

Charlye was preceded in death by her first husband, John F. Haverkorn, on August 3, 1981, after 36 years of marriage. She married Arville L. “Blackie” Beard on July 7, 1990, in Burleson.

She is survived by her husband, Arville L. “Blackie” Beard; daughters, Carolyn Johnson and husband, Ken, Janie Ball and Mary Ann Haverkorn; sons, James Haverkorn and John Haverkorn and wife, Vicki; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
