GLEN ROSE — Clarice Norene Bruce, 93, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016, in Glen Rose.
Graveside service: 11 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth.
Visitation: 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Wiley Funeral Home, Glen Rose.
Clarice was born on Nov. 21, 1922, to Lucious and Thelma Sullivan. While enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps, she met James Bruce at a bus stop while he was on military leave during World War II. They enjoyed going to USO dances and were married on July 5, 1948, in Fort Worth. She resided the majority of her life in Fort Worth.
Clarice was a registered nurse and a great caregiver. She was a member of Rosen Heights Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Clarice was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, a Sunday school teacher, and a member of the PTA. She was an involved mother who went to all events.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Survivors: Sons, Dr. James Michael Bruce and Dana of Fresno, Calif., Calvin Pat Bruce and Susan of Glen Rose; grandchildren, Kim Campbell and Shane of Argyle, Leslie Ross and Daniel of Glen Rose, Allison Stone and Cody of Waco, Phillip Bruce of Fresno, Calif., Staff Sgt. James Bruce and Brianna of Camp Pendleton, Calif., Stephen Bruce of Fresno, Calif., Jessica Bruce of Fresno, Calif.; 13 great-grandchildren; and several cousins.
