GRANBURY — Claud Arion Parrish, 83, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, in Granbury , TX .
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Granbury Church of Christ. Burial: City of Granbury Cemetery . Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury , TX .

Mr. Parrish was born May 28, 1930 in Crosby County, Texas to Creed Parrish and Myrtle Hobbs Parrish. He was the last Parrish to be born on the old homestead. He married Roberta Nunn Parrish, January 22, 1950 in San Angelo, Texas. At the time of her death on December 14, 2008, they had been married for 58 years.
Claud Parrish was a preacher who served in churches in Texas , Oklahoma , Rhode Island and Kansas. He was a missionary for two years in Oslo, Norway and six years in Edinburgh, Scotland . He also served as an Elder at Woodlawn Church of Christ in Abilene, Texas and at the Granbury Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Abilene Christian University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Bible. He received four Master’s degrees in Bible, Sociology, M.Div., and Gerontology. He played dominoes and Mexican Train whenever he could and would beat all comers. He occasionally cheated and changed the rules, but never admitted to any wrongdoing. He loved to travel and was a world traveler. He was also a member of the 39ers group at his church. He loved sweets, candy, cookies, and ice cream.
