Clinton B Mesker, born November 12, 1934 to Pauline and Ormond W. Mesker in West Orange, NJ, passed away due to complications from COVID-19 on January 28, 2021 at 86 years old. He was raised in New Jersey with his brother Ormand R. Mesker and moved to Texas after service in the United States Marine Corps. He married Merry Gay Gilliam in Tomball, TX at First Baptist Church on November 28, 1958.
They met at Sam Houston State University where Clint graduated with a B.S. in Education. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Sul Ross University in Alpine, TX. Clint and Merry moved to Odessa, TX where they made their home and raised 3 daughters Debra Rachel Gillen, Melissa Gay Robinson, and Bridgette Ann Bednarz. Merry and Clint were a loving couple and had 62 years of wonderful marriage and family. He is survived by his wife, 3 daughters, 2 son in-laws, 5 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, and 5 greatgrandchildren, 2 boys and 3 girls & his beloved dog, Heidi.
Clint loved people and people loved him. He and Merry taught for 35 years at ECISD where he helped many students with Chemistry and Physics as well as serving as the Dean of Students at Bonham Jr. HS. He also served on LCRL Council for 4 years and was a deacon at Westminister Presbyterian in Odessa, TX.
A private family memorial in Clint’s honor is currently pending. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord in Odessa, TX, and the Disabled Veterans of America.
