Curtis A. “Cowboy” Houck Sr. of Granbury, 79, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 in Granbury.
Graveside services: 1 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 in Hawley Cemetery, Charles Dixon officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, Abilene.
The son of Haddie Mae (Forman) and Almer Curtis Houck, he was born March 5, 1936 in Rayville, Louisiana and was reared and attended school in Hollyridge, Louisiana.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He was a member of Triple Cross Cowboy Church in Granbury.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo Houck in 1992, his parents and a brother, Phillip Eugene Houck.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Deanna “Dee” Houck of Granbury; two sons, William Dale Houck of Crosby and Curtis Almer Houck Jr. of Abilene; three daughters, Wanda Dunn (Danny) of Rayville, Louisiana, Beverly Umfleet (Roy) of Guy, and Lynette Maxwell (Corey Fay) of Hawley; one stepdaughter, Janice Coghan (Billy) of Granbury; brother, Wayne Houck (Jane) of Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Renee Browning of Abilene; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
