Cynthia Mae Harris Chudej, age 70, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 in Saginaw, Texas.

Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Sunrise Cemetery in Salemburg, North Carolina with Pastor Ivan Byrd officiating.  Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro, North Carolina has been entrusted to handle the arrangements there.

She was born December 2, 1947 in Clinton, North Carolina, the daughter of Jack Dempsey Harris and Mary Porter Harris. Cindy lived in Texas for the past 50 years. She worked for and retired from the Saginaw Police Department as a dispatcher.

She is survived by two sons, Chad Dixon Slovacek of Saginaw, Texas and Marc Chance Slovacek and wife, Marlo of Roanoke, Texas; three grandchildren, Gannon Slovacek of Saginaw, Texas and Bryce and Brenna Slovacek of Sanger, Texas; three sisters, Brenda Huitt and husband, John of Salemburg, North Carolina, Tammy Stivala and husband, Mark of Fort Worth, Texas, and Sue Suskin and husband, Dale of Jennings, Florida; two brothers, Wayne Harris and wife, Veronica of Ormond Beach, Florida and Vince Harris of Miami, Florida; her stepmother, Dee Harris of Miami, Florida; and numerous beloved aunts, an uncle, and many cousins in North Carolina, the majority of whom live in Sampson County.
