Cynthia W. Guess – Cindy, of Granbury, Texas, passed away on Wednesday January 13, 2021. Cindy was born in Memphis Tennessee on April 16, 1958, the daughter of William H. Woodward and Marjorie Woodward Adams.
Cindy was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She will be remembered for her sharp wit, sense of humor and love of shopping along with her dedication to those she loved. She enjoyed golfing, going to the beach and spending time with her family. She was a member of the DCBE Entertainment Committee for several years where she especially enjoyed holiday events. Cindy absolutely loved the holidays, especially Christmas. Her joy of the season and her spirit of giving are well known to all who knew her.
Cindy was passionate about helping others. She received her nursing degree from Crawford W. Long Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta, GA and began her career as a Registered Nurse there. She went on to complete her Masters degree in Health Care Management. She spent the last 21 years at Cook Children’s Hospital where she was Assistant Vice President of Accreditation Compliance.
Cindy will be missed greatly as a friend, peer, and colleague.
She is survived by her husband Ralph “Bert” A. Guess; her children Amanda Guess of Fort Worth, TX, Tripp Guess of Granbury, TX, Katie Guess of Fort Worth, TX, Jennifer Hood and husband Rob of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren Megan Hood, Evan Hood, Caroline Hood, Emma Hood; sister Linda Etter and husband Michael; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Becky Millhouse.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday January 18, 2021, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury. Social Distancing will be required.
