ARLINGTON — Dalton Jackson “Salty” Campbell, 91, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, in Arlington.
Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Dalton was born July 8, 1922, in Tolar to Oscar L. and Celia Belle Gardner Campbell. He married Leta Mae Carr on Feb. 4, 1949, in Stephenville; she passed away Sept. 4, 2008. Dalton was a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps and was very proud to have served our country during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the University of North Texas Letterman’s Association having lettered in track and field. He was an engineer for Southwestern Bell Telephone.
Survivors: Daughter, Brooke Kennedy of Arlington; son, Bennie E. Campbell and wife, Karen, of San Antonio; grandsons, Brian P. Kennedy, Bennie L. Campbell, Keith D. Campbell, Dalton L. Campbell and Jamie L. Campbell; granddaughters, Kristie L. Albright and Karaline M. Campbell; several great-grandchildren, including his most recent pride and joy, Abigail Mae Albright; sisters, Ann Scott of Granbury and Tink Harris and husband, Frank, of Granbury; and brother, Johnny Campbell of Jefferson City, Mo.
