Darryl “Dee” Casstevens, 84, of Granbury, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018. Service: 3:00 PM, Friday, December 28, 2018, in Granbury Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, meeting at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2016 Acton Highway. Graveside service in Odessa, Texas: 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 29, 2018, Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Dee was born on January 13, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Maurice and Freda Day. She was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, as well as a Past President of the Odessa Art Association, and an active member of the Lake Granbury Art Association.
For decades Dee was a pillar of the art community in West Texas, through her ownership of Dee’s Stained Glass studio in Odessa. She designed and constructed countless stain glass fixtures for churches, hospitals, schools and homes all over West Texas. She shared her passion for stained glass to numerous people, both in teaching the art process and creating it. She was talented beyond measure and her art will continue to brighten the world in her absence.
Dee was preceded in death by her daughter: Lauren Casstevens and husband, Marvin Kenneth Casstevens.
Dee is survived by her children: Jeanne Casstevens and husband Douglas Page, and David Casstevens and wife Terri, grandchildren; Andrew Duncan Ellison and wife Casie, Lauren Elaine Sustaire and husband Evan, Casey Anne Adamson and husband Bryan, Matthew Clay Ellison and partner Kristyn McCoy, Crystal Maddaford, and Jasmine Sorsby, and nine great-grandchildren.
