The family will be celebrating Darwin’s life on Saturday, January 18th, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Acton United Methodist church with a short service followed by a memorial lunch. The church is located at 3433 Fall Creek Hwy, Granbury, Texas 76049.

Darwin Simpson Sibilsky October 22, 1928 to December 4th, 2019
Granbury Texas: Darwin Simpson Sibilsky, age 91, died early Wednesday, December 4th, 2019 at Baylor Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, after losing his long battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Darwin was preceded in death by his two sisters who he dearly loved Jean Sinkey, and Francis Thompson.
Darwin was born in Flint, Michigan on October 22nd, 1928, to August and Iris (Simpson) Sibilsky, but was raised in the suburb of Goodrich, Michigan where he graduated from Goodrich High School in 1946. In high school he was a member of the football, band, and track teams.
Darwin worked for Chevrolet Manufacturing a division of General Motors Corporation in Flint, Michigan all of his adult life finally retiring in 1981 after 38 years of service. After retiring Darwin and his wife split their time be- tween their cottage in Standish, Michigan and their home in McAllen, Texas. Choosing to be closer to his grandchildren in 1993 Darwin relocated full time to the Pecan Plantation in Granbury, Texas.
Darwin’s special loves in his life were his wife and family, his church, travel- ing, golf, music, and dancing. Following a long family tradition Darwin was a Master Mason from the Flint Michigan lodge. He was also a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Burton, Michigan until he relocated to Granbury, Texas when he joined the United Methodist church in Acton, Texas. He was a member of the Pecan Plantation, and Nutcracker Country Clubs, and was an avid follower of the Granbury High School girls basketball team.
Darwin’s family includes his cherished wife of 71 years, Rosalie (Bennett), and his three children. His eldest son Ronald Sibilsky and his wife Mary Jo and their two children Jack, and Alexander and his wife Sarah. His daugh- ter Debra Kelliher and her husband Bob. His youngest son James (Jim) Sibilsky and his wife Karen, and Jim’s children Shelby Rose Sibilsky and Andre’ Coady Sibilsky and his partner Cynthia Bennett, and Karen’s daughter Dr. Meggan Robinson and her husband Tauzzari. Along with numerous nieces and nephews all with whom he felt a very special bond even though some time may have passed between visits.
