David (Dave) Wayne Cook, 82, passed away on Thursday; December 31, 2020 at his home in Granbury.

He was born April 19, 1938 in Meridian, Texas to J.N. and Annie Scott Cook.

Dave was a wonderful, kind and gentle man. He was honest and honorable and was very well respected and loved by all those who knew him. Dave was of the Baptist faith who loved the Lord. His family was most important of all to him. Dave served in the United States Air Force, was an Electrician in his earlier years and was mostly in the Real Estate Business and a Rancher, he loved the land. Everyone in the family called him their “Hero”.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, by his ten siblings and by LaNell’s parents, Bill and Lana Patterson who loved him as their own son.

He is survived by his wife of (62) years, LaNell Cook; son, Steve Cook and wife Cindy; daughter, Susan McNiel and husband Mark; four grandchildren, Misty Rhodes and husband Ronnie, David Cook and wife Megan, Justin Curlee and wife Brooke and Morgan Frost and husband Aaron; great-grandchildren, Rody, Colt, Steven, Caroline, Collin, Nolan, Waylon and baby boy Frost on the way.

Family will receive friends during visitation from 4pm. to 6pm. Saturday; January 2, 2021 at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm. Sunday; January 3, 2021 at Meridian Cemetery in Meridian, Texas under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury.
