We have known David for 20 years. Our front gate used to be the turn around point for his morning run. He always had a wave and a smile for us. We will never forget David. Praying for comfort for his family and all who loved him.

Dear Nancy and family, We are so sad to hear that David is gone. Our memories go back to when his family moved to DeKalb, and his dad was one of the best pastors and friends we can count. Dave boarded his first horse in our barn and I had the joy of watching Dave as he practiced roping with other 'cowboys' at a nearby arena in Cortland, He was dedicated; a 'horse whisperer'.at 16. We are blessed to have known Dave. Our sincere condolences also to Steve, Tim and Amy at the loss of a unique, brother . Sending our love, Marcia and Jack Goodrich

David was one of the nicest men I’ve ever met. I spent hundreds of days with him in the gym several years ago, and did many runs with him. He met my kids when we all ran together and always remembered their names even after years of not seeing them. He was quick with a compliment and I never heard anything negative come out of his mouth. David was a shining example of how to be a good human. He will be missed.

Nanci: Tim just called and gave me the bad news. I am shocked, heartbroken and having difficulty getting my head around this. I hurt for you and Wesley, and I pray for God's Peace be extended to you during the coming days. I can't come to the memorial service, but know that I will be with you in spirit. I loved David like my own son, and I think he knew that. I love you too, and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. God bless. Gary D Potter

I congratulated David on the birth of his granddaughter Merle. His face brightened and the biggest smile came over his face. He said I knew she would be important but I was just not expecting to feel this way. He was smitten!
