GRANBURY — David S. Edwards, 51, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, in San Antonio.
Service: A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 7, at 2:00 p.m. at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Final burial with military honors will be scheduled at a later date at DFW Veterans’ Cemetery.
Memorials: The family would appreciate contributions to Habitat for Humanity for Hood County.
David was born on July 4, 1963, in Cleburne, Texas. He graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1981. He joined the United States Air Force after completing training at Chanute AFB in Illinois and was stationed at Upper Heyford in Oxfordshire, England. He completed his tour of duty at Barksdale Air Force Base in 1986.
Mr. Edwards attended Texas Aero Tech Institute and was recognized as one of the outstanding students in his class and received his A & P license. In 1990 he began work for Delta Air Lines and continued until 2004 when the mechanics’ shop at DFW closed. Most recently he was employed at San Antonio Aerospace.
David was known for his quick wit and willingness to help others. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Aggies. He was most proud of his military service and the training he received for a career in aircraft mechanics. After his family he loved his constant companion Bullitt, a miniature pinscher.
Preceding him in death were his father, D. C. Edwards, and a daughter, Catherine Edwards.
Survivors: Daughter, Christine Moskalik (Craig) of Denton; his mother, Judy Stroud (Bob) of Granbury; brother, Blake Edwards of Dallas; grandson Bradley Martellaro of Plano; and a host of other family members and friends.
