FORT WORTH — Dennis W. Hopson, 92, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Fort Worth. Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose. Interment: Nancy Smith Cemetery. Viewing: All day Tuesday and Wednesday before the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Heart Assoc.
Dennis was born Feb. 12, 1922 in Glen Rose to Jess and Effie Wheeler Hopson. He served in the U.S. Army and was a mechanic. He was very independent and had a free spirit. Dennis would buy old cars and fix them up. He was a mechanic on all types of mowers and was always the lawn mower repairman in his neighborhood.
Dennis was preceded in death by Alma Jewel; sons, Sherman Hopson and Don Bruce; and sisters, Marie, Billie and Jo.
Survivors: Children, Glenda Allen and husband, Donald and Randy Hopson; grandchildren, Lisa, Delaney, Colby, Shawn, Dustin, Elliott and Mindy; several great grandchildren; and brother, Kenneth Hopson.
