Diane Sue Henning

Diane Henning passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of October 21, 2022 of natural causes.

She was born December 16, 1947 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.   Her parents were William G Weikart, a decorated WWII combat officer in the 82^nd Airborne and Betty Mae (Hall) Weikart.  After graduating from Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne she received her BS from Indiana University and began her career working in the Chemistry Department at St Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne.

In June of 1970 Diane married Thomas Henning, also of Fort Wayne.  Together they raised two children, Andrew and Lauren.  The family lived in Indiana, Houston, Dallas and Phoenix.   During her career, she worked for several hospitals becoming the manager of the hospital laboratory in Coldwater, MI.   She then started a career installing large laboratory equipment, providing teaching and troubleshooting support.  Her job took her all over the United States before retiring from Beckman Industries 2014.   In Phoenix Diane became very involved as a volunteer at St Vincent De Paul Charity and as a mentor to “at risk” children and teenagers.  She moved to Granbury, TX in 2020 to be close to her son, twin sister and their families.  Diane belonged to St Stephens Catholic Church in Weatherford and was involved with several charities in Granbury. She was most active with Meals on Wheels spending many hours delivering meals to home bound seniors.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Thomas Weikart.  She is survived by her daughter Lauren Henning Emery and granddaughter April of Loveland, CO, her son Andrew Henning and grandson Jaxson of Lewisville, her twin sister Suzanne Weikart Cole of Granbury, her sister Margaret Weikart Deming, of Phoenix AZ and a brother Mark Weikart in the Philippines.

Instead of flowers, donations to Meals on Wheels in her name would be appreciated.

The Funeral Mass will be Saturday November 5, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Stephens Catholic Church in Weatherford.  There will be a Memorial Celebration of Life following at 1:00PM at Pecan Plantation Country Club.
