Don Marlin Broom Sr.

September 22, 1926 - July 3, 2013

Don Marlin Broom Sr., 86, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 3, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Biggers Funeral Home. Interment will be at Azleland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial gifts may be made to a charity of choice.

Mr. Broom was born September 22, 1926, in Whitt. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Doris A. Perry on September 8, 1945, in Fort Worth. They have resided in Lake Worth for over 50 years. Mrs. Broom preceded him in death September 2, 2001.

Mr. Broom was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 146 in Fort Worth.

He is survived by his children, Donnie Broom and wife, Margaret, Alton Broom, Kevin Broom and wife, Paula; daughter, Diane Dobbs and husband, Daniel; brothers, Charles Broom, Bob Broom and Jerry Broom; sisters, Ann Smyers, Louise Duvall and Marguerite Crum; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild.
