June 19, 1947 - March 7, 2014

Donald “Larry” Shumake, 66, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014.

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 10, at Biggers Funeral Home.

After 24 years of service in the United States Air Force, Larry retired to Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Wasilla, Alaska, and later to Saginaw, with his family by his side to fight his battle with cancer.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Pearl Shumake; stepmother, Myrl Shumake; sister, Janice Johnson; brother-in- law, Jim Johnson; stepbrother, Fred Fudge; and grandson, Kaleb Hart.

He is survived by: Stepsister, Jean Keeler and husband, Gary; son, Coby Shumake and wife, Rachael; daughters, Heather Shumake and Holly Anders and fiance, Kurt Affleck; grandchildren, Michael, Heather and Gage Shumake, Nathan Larson, Tyler Hart, MaKenzee Huebner and Colton Anders; the mothers of his children, Nina Boatright and Karen Shumake.
