Donald Wade Moore

Don Moore passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019 in Fort Worth.

Memorial Service will be at 10:30am Friday, December 20, 2019 at Biggers Funeral Home in Lake Worth. Pastor Justin Rhymes, Grace Baptist Church will officiate. The family welcomes all who loved Don to join us at Windy Ryon Roping located 6201 Windy Ryon Way (Main St. at 820) for lunch following the service.

Don was born in Temple, Texas December 7, 1940. Don grew up in the Poly area of Fort Worth on Avenue D. Don achieved the rank of Eagle Scout as a young boy and graduated from Poly High School in 1958. Don earned his degree from North Texas State University. In 1972, Don began his career with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office. Through his career he met so many wonderful friends. Don enjoyed spending time with his friends at The Albatross and in the Stockyards. Although he had many friends he called Tim Curry, Steve “Cowboy” Murrin, Robert Gallagher and Raymond Rains his best friends.

Don retired as the Chief Investigator after 40 years of service in 2012. Don and his wife, Alice met in 1986 and shared 33 years together. Don enjoyed time on the water, whether living on Lake Worth or sailing the Bahamas he was at home.

Don is preceded in death by parents, his brother, Robert Moore, step-son, Mark Abbott & best friend, Tim Curry.

Don is survived by his Wife, Alice Moore, Sister, Shirley Noles, Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, Ronnie & Barbara McCollough. Daughters: Suzie Moore Medford, Carolyn Gilmore (Raymond), Carrie (Juan) & Stephanie (Brian). Sons: Robert (Cammie) & Stephen. Don has 13 grandchildren and 3 great children that absolutely adored him.
