Donald Wright passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021.  Service: 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 8, 2021, Granbury Baptist Church, Interment: 9:00 AM, Thursday, September 9, 2021, Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Visitation: 6:00 PM -8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 7, 2021, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.

Donald Gene Wright (Don), age 79, claimed his citizenship in heaven on Thursday, September 2, 2021, in his home in Granbury, Texas, after an extended illness.  Don was born in Colorado City, Texas, May 13, 1942, on a cotton farm.  He is survived by his wife Tommie and sons Colin Wright, Drew Wright, and Darrell Davis and wife Susie, brother Buck Jim, granddaughter Madison Buckley, great grandson Zeppelin, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, his mother Alice and father Maxie, brothers Billy Joe and Bobby Jack, sisters Betty Jane and Barbara June.

Don will be remembered by his family and loved ones on Tuesday, September 7, for visitation at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  His funeral service will be held at Granbury Baptist Church, 1200 Weatherford Hwy, Wednesday, September 8, at 10:00 a.m.  Graveside will be held at DFW National Cemetery, Thursday, September 9, at 9:00 a.m.

Don served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a mechanic on tanks and as a trainer of recruits.  Following his time in the service of his country he held various mechanic positions and was the General Manager at S & S Manufacturing in Grand Prairie.  Throughout his life he had a grateful and generous heart, helping untold numbers of people.

Memorials for Don may be given to Granbury Baptist Church.
