Dorothy “Dottie” Faye (Jones) May was born February 17, 1924 in Keller, to Mattie Belle and Em Franklin Jones. She was one of eight children, three brothers and four sisters. Her last living sibling, Ima Love Jones Young, left this earth a few months ago at the age of 102.
Dottie graduated from Lake Worth High School in 1940 and married Richard R May in 1941. She worked for the Civil Service during World War II and went on to raise three children while helping her husband grow their business.
Dottie loved the outdoors, including bird hunting and fishing. She was also an avid sports fan attending many TCU football games and never missing a Texas Rangers game on TV.
Over the last three years, Dottie has resided at Eagle Crest Villa in Azle. There, she made many friends, enjoyed spending time with her family, and keeping the birds and squirrels well fed. She was cared for by a family friend, Zuma Meza, whom she adored. Special thanks to the staff of Eagle Crest Villa for the love and kindness they showed Dottie during her time there. Also, Thanks to Visiting Angels and Holy Savior Hospice for their care and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, her son-in-law, Bobby Webb, and daughter-in-law, Franell May.
She is survived by her son, Richard R “Rick” May; daughters, Deborah Horn and her husband Don Horn, and Susan Webb; Dottie was “Mimi” to eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandsons, including, grandchildren, Shauna Glenn Jones and her husband, Jeff Jones, Quinton Webb, Allan Meyer, Trae May and his wife, Lyndie, Cody Webb and his wife Marla, Case May and his wife, Allison, Phillip Meyer and his wife, Jennifer, and Cliff Webb and his wife, Jill; great-grandchildren, Presley Trejo and her husband, Elias Trejo, Riley Smith, Kirsten Webb, Fisher May, Connor May, Anson Meyer, Harley Glenn, Aiden Webb, Ethan Glenn, Grant May, Cadence Webb, Gloria Webb, Owen May, Maggie May Meyer, and Dylan Webb; great-great-grandchildren, Carson Trejo, Dawson Trejo, and soon-to-be great-great-granddaughter, Camila Faye, who will bear her middle name to honor our precious Mimi.
