Dorothy Jean Word, 90, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, September 26, in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Dorothy Jean Warden was married to Adolph Word on December 25, 1947 in San Antonio. She had been a long-time resident of San Antonio before moving to the area in 2000. She had worked for Kelley Air Force Base for 22 years before retiring in 1973.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Adolph Word of Haslet; children, Janet Marie French and husband, Jack of Arlington, Barbara Jean Long and husband, Curtis of Haslet, Linda Prestegard of San Antonio, Stephen Word and wife, Elaine of The Colony; sisters, June Simpson of Fort Worth; Virginia Reynolds of Hermitage, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Jerry Dyson of Hurst; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
