Dorothy M. Hazlewood, 86, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 18, in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park. The family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born April 16, 1930, in Granbury to John N. and Beulah Stewart. She was raised in Granbury and each day rode the bus from Granbury to Fort Worth to attend Technical High School where she was a majorette. After graduation in 1948, she worked a number of different jobs and later went to work for the City of Lake Worth from which she retired in 1996.

She is survived by her children, John Hazlewood and Judy Spivey and husband, John; grandchildren, Cole Hazlewood, Chelsie Holland and Joseph, Sarah, and John Luke Spivey; great-grandchildren, Caleb Hazlewood and Tanner and Chelbie Holland.
