Dear Dorothy B and Roy M Slick D.O.... You Sent me a Safe and Prosperous  Escape Route Opportunity in 1978-1979...from Titanic Situation at SWTSU in San Marcos, Texas...I lived with  D & R at FT Meade, SD in 1979-1980 where we had great singing John Denver Songs with close friends Margaurite and Family.. I was able to finish my Chemistry and Biology Bachelor of Science at Black Hills State Univ..and I found a Great JOB at Black Hills Airport working as a Commercial Pilot and very new Flight Instructor under the supervision of Retired USAF Colonel Daniel Parke Custis Jr and Madeline Custis, Owners & Operators of Star Aviation. When I applied to the Univ of South Dakota Medical School as a Graduate Student I was Accepted for Fall 1980 and Spring 1981.. ( My GPA was not outstanding)... Roy just happened to be an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at USD Med School in Vermillion SD. Roy was also the Chief of Internal Medicine at Ft Meade Veterans Adm Hospital..1976 until  his full retirement some years later..I made one of a few mistakes..I should have talked Roy and Dorothy into Selling me their Mooney Mark 20 N74500 or letting me fly their Plane to South Dakota..later for safe keeping.. I need more local INTEL. In 1980,  after graduation at BHSU, I returned to my family in Portland, Texas...for a visit. I went to Houston TX to attend two weddings of friends from SWTSU..and I stopped by the Houston office of the father of my former True Love, Vicky L Rader MD ( Sugarland, TX). I had never met Mr Albert G Rader, of Spring, TX before and I was glad to see that he was friendly...considering Titanic Trend at SWTSU in 1979..Al told me Vicky was starting Med School on Aug 11, 1980 at Texas Tech in Lubbock..and that she was not engaged... I soon drifted out to Lubbock and began hearing Simon and Garfunkel Songs Like "Mrs Robinson" and "The Sounds of Silence" and "Scarborough Fair" in my Sleep.....( Truly, I was never near Joan Rader, Vicky's Mom) .. Corruption and Deception unfortunately was able to block me from unwiring the Greene and Paid Associates Plot.. I stayed in Lubbock until 1983...until I began thinking about Joining the US NAVY to go to  the other side of the earth..which I did twice in 1986 and 1988..In March 1988 USS Enterprise My Duty Station, visited Mombassa , Kenya ..and I was able to go on a 2 day Photo Safari, to Tsavo and Amboseli National Parks...In 1989 I saw this new Movie on VH1...Channel..."Options" MGM, 1989 with Joanna Pacula and Matt Salinger...( Someone bought DVD Rights to Options.1989..and Blocked Production and Sales so only VHS Version is available ie on Amazon.com) . I took this Movie as a Sign...except the Happy ending failed..I think our Optimum "Serendipity Destiny" for Vicky and I was foiled by deception which caused alienation of her and her family. I last saw Vicky in 1982..and last Talked to her on phone  to Recommend "Options" Movie in 1989.. Dorothy and Roy provided my good friendship and a nice 3rd floor to live on in 1979-1980 and a very fast horse ( CHIC ) to ride...!!! We had a very nice year in the Black Hills plus other visits in Murietta, Cal..near their daughter Sherri Slick Maxwell and Phil and kids Jenny and Melissa and Chad..in Temecula, CAL and earlier in Placerville,  CAL. Roy gave me a set of Keys to his Mooney Airplane N7500 when it was hangared at Hunt Airport in Portland, TX in 1974-1975..I really enjoyed flying that Plane..from Michigan to Portland and other places when I wanted to... Roy passed in  June, 1999 at the age of 82....as he had Diabetes... Since then...Dorothy and Sheri have been harder to find.. But I know in faith that they have had their reasons.. My Love, Admiration and Appreciation is a Reality Check! Don Elmo Woodruff Jr
